Rourkela & Bhubaneswar – Grand Parents and Other Strange Beings

We visited Bhubaneswar in May 2004 with Mamli whose summer vacation had started and the little baby, Bablu. Padmaja’s parents were still living in Rourkela where my father-in-law was then the Executive Director (MM & PP) in the Rourkela Steel Plant. My father had already retired from SAIL and my parents along with my paternal grand parents had settled in Bhubaneswar.

I returned to Hyderabad to attend an interview with Oracle India Private Limited and Padmaja went to Rourkela with the kids to spend time with her parents. My in-laws had a large bungalow with a huge garden. Padmaja & I grew up in Rourkela and both have relatives and lots of friends there. Mamli was born in Rourkela but so far nobody had seen Padmaja’s second child.
