Early in 2009 we noticed that Bablu was developing a squint in his left eye. A visit to Dr. Ashish Bansal, HOD of Ophthalmology at Apollo Hospital traced the cause to a lazy eye kind of syndrome and the need for glasses. We were rather upset at the prospect. Mamli needed glasses when she too was the same age and we wondered what we were doing wrong. Neither Padmaja nor I needed glasses as children. I use glasses now, at age 38, but she still does not need them. Anyway we had new glasses made for Bablu and he has been wearing them since. He received his first pair of glasses on March 12, 2009. And he was pleased with them. At least for some time :-) These photographs were taken that evening when I brought home his glasses. He was working on his homework when I arrived and went through a range of emotions when he say the new glasses. I snapped off a series of photographs in a attempt to record those changes.
